Official TVS Thread!!!
found out the engine was not balanced fully and eventually jus caused the piston to slap the sleeve on cylinder 3 i caught it early enough wher it only did damage to that sleeve...but its all good now bought new sleeve, and pistons and had it bored .20 over to get the waves out of the walls and sum other things done..now brian is going paint happy lol
balancing dident cause your problem
yeah, I'm kinda pissed about carstedt's car not being balanced out right when it was assembled, its just caused more problems cause someone either didn't want to do the work at the machine shop, or someone didn't want to pay to have it done, but right now, from the cause of it not being done. I've had carstedt's sleeve, pistons, oil pump, balencer hub, not sure if it was caused from being out of balence, but maybe cause they didn't check for proper clerence for the rocker arms to the valve springs. But yeah, all thats been replaced and fixed. all cause someone wanted to shortcut the build. so they saved a couple hundred bucks in the short run, but caused thousands of dollars in the end. but we should have a screamer in the end, well I'm hoping anyway. Might turn the key and blow the head off this thing, lol
how do you tell an engine wasent balanced from a visual inspection? you cant the only sighns is if it needed weight added to the crank and the lsj crank is pretty much spot on from the factory
the main reason why people have failures from piston swapping is from improper piston to wall clearances not balancing

run a -10 off the back of the valve cover thru a good (not ebay junk) air/oil seperator then to the air intake and plug the pcv port in the head
still creates a vaccum leak the system needs to be sealed
nah i lik it polished..cant have to much orange lol..and yes its a 2.6 he may hav put the 2.8 on it in this picture though not sure...trying to find myself a 2.5 tho
Damn man that will look sick! You should paint the TVS too, I'm surprised so many people keep them the color they are
eh he tlkd bout painting jus the lines on it orange but that would be alot of work lol..i dont wanna bug him to much he kinda jus sends me messages of **** he paints...the color of it is fine to me once the block gets painted and its all together itll look nice...we hid a bunch of sensors and wires last time so it really cleaned it up and we ran clear coolant hoses as well which was really cool...thers small parts painted and polised lik the engine mount and oil cooler and wut not...ill update with sum pictures as it comes along!

It's actually the 3.2 on their for now, and their is really no need to.paint the TVs, its color works with everything else, and its powdercoated, I've thought about doing something with the lines, but I don't want to mess with the powdercoating
