mobil 1...lol just because the manual says so. If you have an internal problem and need to take it in for warranty work hopefully they wouldn't blame it on the oil but you never know

Theres a oil spec in the manual, its like 1394 or something like that for the minumum spec.
If its listed on the Quaker state I dont see a problem using it.
I will use the Can tire formula 1 synthetic ($19.00 for 4.4 liters )if mobil 1 not on sale, I am pretty sure its made by esso and meet all the specs listed in the manual.

I think Quaker State is re-used oil. I mean hell all oil is used but quaker is older. If that makes sence.

Who cares what the manual says.

RP - Group 4 Synthetic
Mobil 1 - Group 3

Group 4 > Group 3

Using a better oil will not void your warranty. It is a minimum spec.

It may not...however, my point was he said who cares what the manual says. My reply is if you don't care about the warranty than it doesn't matter what the manual says. But if you do just do what it says...simple

yea I have to get my oil changed and tires rotated every 6000 miles and I get free tires and batteries for life. But if I go over even by a mile they wont do it. They discontinued that offer so they are trying to get rid of everyone who has it, but as long as I keep my maintenence on time they cant void it.

They won't. GM doesn't care if you use RP. They'll void your warranty for a CAI more then a specific oil.

RP is better then M1 so they don't care.

X2 it even acts as if it revs more freely. Royal Purple is the only way to go.

Just switched over to RP last week. Car feels nice through the revs now, and I certainly had it revving last weekend!
