oil cap help

oil cap help

so... as you all know a month ago now i changed my oil, dp, plugs, the next day my oil cap was gone. well i got another cap and today i was under the hood looking at some stuff and i knoticed that my cap was off again and laying sideways... has anyone had a problem with it poping off?

Do you have mounts? Maybe the engine vibes are causing it to slowly loosen?

nope no mounts. i some how feel i got back pressure maybe from the new dp?

you would need 8 metric **** tons to unthread a cap and shoot it off, im sure something else would go before that. id say you left it loose and the squirels are messing with you.

duct tape
seriously put duct tape around it after you make sure it is on tight go for a drive and see if in fact it is twisting out

The dip stick would pop before it would do anything to the cap. Is someone messin with you or something?

One of the Atom guys with the ecotec has the same problem. he's lost 3 or 4 caps. we figured it was some problem with the valve cover not being able to lock the cap. we recommended he safety wire it in place

it started happening right after i replaced the factory dp. possibly alot of back pressure?

Make sure it's seated right before screwing it in. It doesn't thread on it just clicks into place.

hey just asking. ive looked at gm no bulletins on it. but im going to keep checking on it monday. my master tec will be back then and he said he will look into it for me
