Instead os using Mobil 1 5w-30 I used Mobil 1 10w-30 weight oil. Mainly, becuase I moved to Las Vegas and I wanted extra protection from the heat. Would this be an issue with warranty or cause engine damage?

 

It's just taking your oil longer to circulate through the engine at start-up.
I wouldn't use it.

 

Its warrentied right? Use what recommended for the car, if it breaks or ceases from the extra heat....... they'll fix it for free..

Plus man, I live in Arizona and we hit 115+ days. You have nothing to worry about.

 

All I can say is read the owners manual it will tell you all you need to know. The owner's manual specifically says DO NOT USE ANY OTHER OIL BUT 5W-30. I'm sure you could use a thicker oil in hotter weather and be ok, but when it comes to warranty issues the manual is the bible.
