Option B Issues

I recently did the Option A upgrade and was not making hardly any boost and noticed a lot of circulating air bubbles. There was obviously no way to get these out so I went ahead and did option B. My car is still riding the same for some reason. The air should have been bled out by now. Sometimes I can make up to 16psi but most of the time it is 9psi. When I punch it, it never gets up and goes like it used to. The boost builds but it eventually goes. I hear a strange hiss when I'm in boost also, probably from the boost bypass? I doubt I have a leak anywhere because the max boost is always 9 or 16psi.

Anyone have any ideas?

edit: the flow into the extra overflow tank is pretty strong and burp free.

Anyone have any ideas? I keep throwing a knock sensor code also...I'm betting its bad

Is this the knock sensor? I remember where the end with the hole is located but I don't think i ever saw the other end. Where does that plug into?

are you throwing any codes? it should be giving you codes if its acting that funny. Maybe you have a manifold leak somewhere causing you to go too rich and lose power? Did you replace your intake manifold gasket after the install?

Its also probably best if you had a gauge that could see all this happen, i bought an Aeroforce Interceptor to watch the IAT2 after the dual pass install and also watch for knock retard.

I'm betting its the knock sensor. I thought that was a ground for some reason and didn't tighten it back to spec.

Having air in ur system has nothing to do with losing boost.. You probably have a boost leak somewhere. Check all of your lines. And if you did install the option b correctly the air should bleed out eventually anyway.

Yea I know that. I figured the ecu could be bleeding off boost for added KR. Im going to pull it apart tomorrow and check the sensor.

switching from option A to B does not have any thing to do with where you may be losing boost. IF it's not the knock sensor being unplugged, i would bet that there is a problem with the seal on the endplate or with the laminova coils or a combination of both
