This morning I put on my OTTP Stage1 rotated mount, shim for the rear mount, and a new smoothflow 2.75" pulley, which I was tuned for last fall, but had a 2.9 for winter. This was at about 11:00am, 40*F, car was cold.

I previously had TTR poly mounts, and upper motor mount (which are for sale). I must say, this is a nice smooth change

On to my questions...

After the install, I loosened the top motor mount bolts, drove back and fourth in my parking space a few times, rev'd the engine a few times, tightened everything up, and went for a spin.

Very little wheel hop at all in first and second. No KR. Seemed great!

Now it is later in the day, 4:00pm, still about 40* outside, car was warmed up after running some errands, so I decide to get on it again.

This time very bad wheel hop in first and second, and KR went to about 4 - 5 on my interceptor at the top of 2nd. Also noticed that during shifts, when I'm letting off the clutch (normal driving around town) the KR would jump to 0.5 - 2 for a split second.

Last weekend I replaced my plugs, using NGK BKR7E's gapped at .35, no KR at all until this new setup today...

Any ideas whats going on here?

 

Gas?

 

Hmm. Last night I did fill up at a different mobil station... pretty sure I hit the 93 octane button...

 

doesnt always mean its good. I ran into a bad kr issue on a canned tune lil whyll back. All was good for few months then winter blend gas came and bam 4-5* kr. Now I rune meth so no issues.

 

ive had issues with mobil gas in the past....quite a few times actually.... pulley maybe? i highly doubt a mount is going to cause kr

 

I thought the pulley too, but in the fall Nick (BYT) tuned it with the 2.75" and no KR. and its funny about the winter gas, there was a sticker on the pump that said "from Nov 23 to Feb 23 gas is oxygenated to reduce emmisions" ... maybe i'll get an octane booster and see what happens...

 

thats a waste aswell it only raises the points on the right side of the octane rating so you will go from 93 to 93.2. try easing into the gas till you hit floor. if no kr then like me it was lot of timming on winter blend gas.

 

So I'm still getting wheel hop too... I loosened the three bolts on the top motor mount again, drove back and fourth, tightened them down again... dont know what else I should do
