not calling him out.. we normally team up.. thats why i said "just saying".. letting it be known they go hand and hand...

detonation = knock
knock = retard in timing
timing = well.. if you dont know this you dont need to be working on cars..

i havent tinkered internally on this motor yet.. just knowledge from old school.. but a motor is a motor.. doesnt really matter if it has a distributor or tables.. mechanically.. they all function and have explosions..all about air vs fuel vs spark

hard to pinpoint on something like that without seeing it... could be many things...
first thing i do...

get a long screwdriver.. pipe.. doesnt matter.. something you can press against your ear and then touch the motor in different areas, if something is loose/broke/rattling around.. you will pinpoint the area alot easier

not necessarily.
spark blowout has nothing to do with knock....
and can easily cause a backfire....

ive seen knock lots of times....never really felt anything.... *shrug*

omg, tuning a new car with hpt and a LM-1 is easy compared to tuning a 355 6-pack with only 1 vacuum guage, back in the day when wideband was at the top of your pants.

back to topic, if you are leaning out, you will get popping from too large a plug gap. like nuclear popcorn.
