Porting th SC

Hopefully someone can help me out. Im planning to port my own SC. I will be plugging up the silencer holes. Wondering how much i need to grind off in the big V shape. If anyone can give me exact measurements that would be great

Everything I have ever seen on the Eaton blowers say that you shouldn't port the outlet, only the inlet should be ported. The outlet can be smoothed though. You can plug the holes but makes sure whatever you use to plug the silencer holes doesn't come off or it will go straight into the motor.

From what i have seen done, a VERY small amount can be taken from the outlet...

The shape must not change at all though, and it needs to be even all the way around.

ive seen the opposite. a small amount can be removed, but you want to do most of the removing from the wide end of the V, and leave the narrow end of the V just about unchanged

Maybe you can remove a small amount, not 100% sure on that. I do know that the reason you shouldn't mess much with the outlet is that the outlet is shaped to chanel and compress the air in a specific pattern. If you change the outlet V you cause the SC to lose the ability to effectively compress the air.

That is why i thought i read that you should keep the shape the same if you port..

I do remember seeing a picture of a m62 and the bottom of the outlet was all jacked up (non symmetrical an uneven)...

dont even mess with the outlet side. its shaped the way it is for a reason. the inlet side should just have the grit sanded down... its not even nesessary to have it polished a port to about 1000grit is enough

I got information from the Eaton guy that said you can port it a little on each end (inlet and outlet), smooth them, and it will improve the flow. If you go overboard you may disrupt the air movement/compression.

Just smooth the outlet up and plug the boost leak holes.

Say what you want man. This is coming straight from the Manufacturer's mouth, there is a thread about it, and the eaton guy even stated this himself.

^Yah plugging them really does nothing for performance, they are just holes to dissipate boost to quiet the blower down for OEM standards. Why are you so against it SteveBlack06?
