Possible 2.0L Performance Loss Question

Well lets see what kind of input you guys have.

Basically as most people on here know early march i did mods at Tag Racecraft and was dyno tuned. They did a great job by the way and i saw great gains especially torque. Well now come to find out I probably had a clogged cat when we did this.

Well the cat was replaced today and the sound is gone.

My question is do you guys think I will now lose some power stay the same or gain some slightly without getting re-tuned? Im just curious what everyone thinks. Car still feels like its got pep, I built about 17.5 lbs boost in high second gear, so the boost is there. My impression is the power should still be there if anything it might have freed up a little bit more without even tuning it.

Well give me some input guys

thanks
Jake

I think you are fine since the tuning is happening before the exhaust. You are tuning the engine not the exhaust right. Then again I dont know much, lol

yes technically. But exhaust and back pressure will affect it. thats why im curious what the tuners think. If i desperately need to re-tune or if my power is still there and a re-tune might just squeeze out a few more horses and ft-lbs

if you're tune is running more rich than the factory tune than it may have caused the cat to go bad and may clog it again. a new unclogged cat should feel a bit better if not the same.

mine sounded like something was rattling in it.

as for the tune clogging the cat. The cat was probably on the way out when it was tuned, it just finally went off the deep end. Thats why im wondering if when we replaced it tonight freeing that air up is going to hurt the tune or help the way it was tuned.

The car is stillslightly riuch but we leaned it from where it was stock, i know that
