Problems And Dealer is Dumb!!!

Hey guys,

I have been have some problems with my 06 cobalt ss/sc. To start everything off 2 weeks ago my check engine light came on. it was p0172 system to rich (bank 1) so i figured Gm makes the stock tune on them rich from factory. so i when to my local advance and used there scanner to clear it. well the next 3 days it came back each day. so i called my local Gm dealer and made an apointment. so i let the check engine light on to show the dealer. well that day befor i took it there the light went out and the car started to run better again so i figure it fixed its self. well anouther week went by and everything was fine untill my car just shut off and died. i started it back up and it was ideling like a harley and the check engine light came back on and on th screen where the mileage is it said engine power reduced. well it was spitting and stuttering like hell. it had NOOOOO POWER it took me a good 1/4 mile to get to 45mph. well i got it home and let it sit awhile. i started it back up and it ran fine i was like WTF!!!!! so i made another apointment at the dealer. they told me there was 4 codes i dont know the #;s but the said it was the system to rich, system to lean, some throttle body flow performance, and something to do with the inlet boost pressure. they had my car to days and did nothing with it. they told me it was my intake doing this. i was like bullshit because my intake has been on my car for like a year and i naver had a problem. can you guys tell me whats wrong with my car. all the did was clear my codes and charge me $372. the car runs fine now but they never fixed anything and i dont want it to break down again.OH the only things i have done to my car it intake and a axle back exhaust.......

If your cars not under warranty don't take it to a dealer. They will rape you every time.

the car is still under warranty and they charged you??? so they basically denied your warranty claim on this problem. definitely go back there and bitch them out, then go to a dealership who knows wtf they are doing.

IMO it sounds like you have a maf problem. either there is a leak somewhere, or there is **** on the sensor itself. also your sc inlet pressure sensor may be jacked up.

power reduced happens when u run lean cuz of vaccumm or ur maf or baro sens is not calibrated right to the sc inlet pressure happens to me about 4 times now actaully just happened about an hour ago.. buy a aeroforce interceptor and u can clear the code so u dont have to drive it like that plus watches ur iat2 temps if they get to hot it will go into limp mode also..

Baro sensor maybe. I had mine replaced under warranty, but only after the dealer fucked me for $225 that they claimed my intake did. Complete BS, and yet after they replaced the BARO, it still has the same limp mode problem at random times. It irritates the **** out of me that a dealer can't fix a car under warranty without ******* you.

I'd go back, and get your money back. They didn't do anything to rate charging you.

p1182 (scip sensor) and p0068 (map/maf tps correlation) will throw you into limp mode.

GM disabled p0068 on '07 so thats usually a good place to start. find someone wiht hptuners.
