haha...stage 5 is a full race clutch. it's pretty much an on/off switch for the clutch. no middle ground, no slipping. lots of stalling.

Stage 2 SPEC clutch seems to be the general consensus going around, seems to be a tough break in but will last a long time after that. I personally don't have my clutch replaced, but I'm going with the Stage 2 kit under the GM warranty and I'll be putting the Stage 2 SPEC clutch in the car at the same time as the kit. I haven't heard much about the Stage 3 clutch, but I think your best bet will be the Stage 2 for the INTENSE.

I called and talked to SPEC and discussed with 2 different reps and got 2 different answers. (me) Building a 12sec to high 11sec Cobalt, what clutch do you need??

Cool, you need the stage 3+

Cool project, the stage 2+ would be perfect! You see, your engine doesn't make allot of torque so you don't need the higher capacity clutch.

So there you have it

so 2+ or 3+ depending on how much HP you plan on they would be fine.

With stock tires and minimal slipping from a start, yes it will survive. Hard driving or DR's Hell no
