70K? I had three die in 65K miles. About a year and a half is all you can expect reliably. I can get them rebuilt locally if you are interested.

heat exchanger pump? I've had this exact problem. think about any electric motor like a starter, the brushes start to fail and eventually completely fail. sometimes they just instantly fail. yours seems like a zombie motor so I would just listen for it. try tapping it lightly with a hammer. it's directly below the intake mani behind your radiator. if you run the car for 30 seconds to be safe and feel or listen it's pretty easy to tell. and trust me if it's on you'll know. hope this helps.

Just a quick question for you guys...

Would you be in any danger running with the pump not working as long at you go easy on her?

I understand that IATs will go up, but to a point were you would be in any danger?

OP, sorry about the thread jack...

The bosch one OTTP carries is a stock replacement. That is really the only solution out there at the moment, short of a major cost/time upgrade like the meziere pump, which hasn't proven to be superior that i've seen.

No, it's perfectly safe to drive the car normally. At WOT however, manifold temps can quickly climb over 200 degrees, which is bad news for any motor. Avoid WOT, particularly at high rpms where the blower creates tons of heat, until you have a good working pump.

I did manage to not blow mine up despite repeated attepts at finding out why my pump was quitting. I had it well over 220 degrees a couple times and still pulling, the car just felt worthless.

Yeah, that one is the same part# as the GM one, the one you take off the car is the same bosch pump. GM just charges 3 times as much.

I'm also selling a meth kit if you're looking for one.

yes, the Cobra/Lightning pump is the same Bosch pump that you get from GM or OTTP or wherever. They are on e-bay for $90 usually.

Yes that one will work. But sometimes you can get lucky and find them on ebay cheaper. I got one from ebay for like $75 shipped.
