rod condoms protects ur crank. make sure u position major and minor thrust in the right ares and 1st ring should be inbetween thrust and rod hole and second should be 180degrees and oil ring should be 90 degrees off those two

these two statements lead me to believe that you're trying to check ring gap with the rings installed on the pistons. i'm sure that you know that your supposed to check ring gap with the ring in the cylinder bore without the piston, right?

with removing the head u will have to do the propor things to take it off. it not just on bolt and lift.. u will have a lot to remove and un hook
blocks should always be bored to fit forged pistons, the ra specs of the pistons walls for forged aren't going to be close, and it removes any irregularities of the bore.

if you're going through that much trouble, spend a few hundred extra and get the block machined

yea the piston is going to be the same diameter so it'll fit the bore, u should still check it with a micrometer and make sure

i hope u have it together by now damn let a craka know
