All this 4.45 talk and I keep thinking of looking for an LNF trans so I can hit 140 in 3rd gear

I like that idea too. But that means less traction

Smh if you're not getting traction get better tires and setup.

Thats what I said too!! I just got off the phone with a good friend and had a long discussion about this and said you get sticky tires you'll just break other ****. Meh with the 4.45 hopefully I'll just have to worry about axles and clutch

And that is exactly why i run stock axles. I like to think of them as a shear pin.

Also.. As long as you avoid wheel hop at all costs, things will take a lot more abuse than your think.

You think Napa axles would still be a safety feature? I think I need new ones so I was gonna get those

Yeah but honestly I'd just go with oem. Napa ones don't seem to last as long IMO and have been proven to not hold up to high speeds as well.

I personally saw a stock LSJ axle twist off from just power in the ~450whp range. Full traction in the middle of 3rd gear, about 80mph, clean break inside the outer CV boot.

one of the things that kills axels is from lowering the car to far it binds up the axels

Weird. Makes me wonder if it had been weakened prior.

I twisted a stock axle off with stg 2 and stock ride height and no wheel hop on the run. If you are going to build a badass drivetrain, be sure that the cheapest part is the weakest link.

When you launch something has to break its potential energy and become kinetic energy for motion to occur. If the static friction of the tires isnt overcome then something will break or slip or shear off.

rust....might as well be welded lol slide hammer took care of it though. cleaned it up and put some sealant on it to keep it from doing it again.
