resonator/muffler ideas

Looking to get a custom 3" exhaust made in a few weeks, since i'll be getting the JBP header and already have a downpipe and want the most flow possible for when I change pulley size. I want the quietest possible setup, but then again I want it to have a nice growl to it. My first thought was to buy one of the Whisper resonators and use that as my only muffler/resonator to a tip. Saw those are on backorder so I found a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator that looks decent. Would it be too loud to just run a single resonator to a tip? I'm looking to not spend a lot of money, since I have a lot of other stuff I need to buy. If i could get a semi-quiet exhaust with just a resonator and no muffler that would be ideal.

that will be loud as hell. Are you still keeping stock downpipe because thats one major factor in loudness is the cat. Keeping the cat you'll cut down sound by about half of what it would be, but with straight through mufflers (i.e. resonators) you'll have trouble keeping the sound down especially with a 3". If you want something semi-quiet, 3" will not be your friend, you're contradicting yourself there.

if you run a really long resonator, and a nice size muffler with stock downpipe off a 3" you'll get a decently loud car, but not too loud to handle. Only running a resonator and trying to keep a quiet 3" exhaust is impossible, lets just leave it at that.

let me put it this way. you won't be quiet with a resonator AND a muffler with a 3" exhaust. maybe 2 resonators and a muffler, but just a resonator will be loud as ****
