rpm's sticking and car shutters

I let my friend use my car, long story short I got it back and now the rpm's stick @ 2k even in neutral. It feels like its having a seizure when taking off in first and second.

I asked him how hard he ran it in 1st gear. He claimed he didnt at all, just rev'd it and stalled it once. Never letting anyone else drive me car again.

Old post I know. But did you find the problem? My car rpms stick in 2nd for a sec then jerks when petting off the gas around 2500. Can't take it in because it happens every once in awhile
