05 and 06's have torque managment options on the tranny side. yes, there is torque managment for the 5spd cars. if you want too, i can point you in the directio you need to remove it. i however, don't have that luxury because gm removed the trq option from the tranny side on 07's.

in short, yes, removing trq mngmt from will do something.

someone may have answerd already. i dont have time to read but the reason behind our terrible gear is the car was built in germany on the Nürburgring. take the car on a road course and you'll see right away. We were not built to go straight.

Incorrect but i like your explanation. Our tranny is pulled directly from the 9-3 and 1st gear was designed for people who tow with there cars in Europe.

Still don't understand why they didn't just resurrect the Viggen motor and give it to us instead of the blown motor.

True, true. What WAS tuned on the Nuerburgring was our suspension, which I believe was done by KW for our stock setup. But, yes, the car is NOT made for straight-line performance....who cares about that anyway (except young, stupid kids who will soon be dead in a ditch anyway...thank goodness for natural selection!)

wow....... all i got to say is not everyone is privledged with tracks....... and not everyone likes to auto cross. Personally I remember gm anouncing that you had to buy special steering knuckles for the cobalt due to the fact that the stock ones would snap....... so someone left out on detail when they designed the suspension. and personally I find your comment offensive cause ive seen plenty of older people do just as much dumb **** as young folks. its a matter people not caring due to the fact most times they believe they got so much money to **** away that it doesnt matter.

1) Steering knuckles aren't part of the "suspension" per se, but were a cheapo GM mistake, yes.

2) Let me rephrase my comment - it is stupid street racers from ALL AGES that I hope kill themselves without injuring others, hence natural selection.

And by the way, if it is straight-line performance you want, go rear-wheel drive, dumbshit.

I totally agree that 2nd gear leaves much to be desired when it comes to all out acceleration.

2 bad our cars are geared the way they are ...

This reminds me of a thread *I* started about my 2nd gear feeling like a dog in my cobra!

I had to do a mid-pipe/pulley/tune and go from 8psi to 13psi to really wake my car up.

2nd gear felt like poo, and unless was already at 4k+ would feel like a damn dog. (to me, all my buddies thought it was fast as **** lol)

Blown cars just love more boost.

What a dick-head comment.

Yeah, who cares about straightline performance, I mean hell, it's only a complete american pastime right?

Live a little before you start stereotyping a type of driving that people prefer.
