I don't see why not..It's all about what kind of money you are tryin to spend..Money talks. I beleive though that the redline may be rear wheel drive, not sure, which could mean more then just swapping motors

Well you do understand that the engine is transversal, correct?

Also, they are hard enough to even find on the road, good luck trying to find one in a junk yard anywhere.

Also, the Soltice is an RWD vehicle, what type of drivetrain are you trying to hook up to this engine?

You have to think price of doing something like this versus the gains (and this is assuming that this would even work which I highly doubt).

The engine is transversed because of it being RWD. Like I had mentioned, anything is possible with the right kind of money

Yep, a big and expensive step one, locate an engine to a car thats hardly on the road at this point. Might be cheaper just to build up a motor to the same specs or something, turbo it and put that in your car.

Some funny terms here! lo

FWD cars then egine sits TRANVERSELY (not transversed)

RWD cars the engine sits in a longitudinal positon.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longitudinal

So you could run into problems there. Plus there is the electronics to dael with.

Just wait for the Turbo Cobalt SS---it will be far more cost effrective.

Also its sad to hear someone "thinks" the Sky may be RWD

Love if you could snap a picture of it for me
And yes timing is everything
Sorry.. I can't. We are prohibited to do so. And some people have already been caught and fired for taking pics and posting on the internet when the cars first came out.

The only advantage of taking the Sky/Soltice engine is direct injection. Not sure if they got the crappy pistons too.

The only real problems I would see with doing this swap would be the electronics. It is still the same motor, so I'm sure you could get it to fit and work with a front wheel drive transmission. However, gettting the computer to run it maybe a bit of a problem.

The setup in the sky is completly different than the cobalt .

We offer a bolt on turbo kit if your interested.

It would be cheaper to just buy a Sky Redline/Solstice GXP. But thats just my 2 cents

I love everyone thinks the 2.0 Turbo is better than the 2.0 Supercharged. We boost 12.5 factory and make an avg of 215whp, that engine boosts 19psi factory and makes 228whp. So someone please explain to me why you would want the LNF?

^^^Exactly...the engine is nearly the same. If you want extra power, just get a smaller pulley or a stage 2 or something. I guaruntee it will cost much less then anything else, and you won't have to wait for the turbo to spool up.

Boost is all relative to the power adder, not the engine.

For the engine design of the LNF compared the LSJ, I'd pick the LNF anyday...this is saying minus a power adder.
