Like I said the 13.6 was ran with a slipping stock clutch, before we installed the Spec stage 4 - 6 puck and Fidanza 7" flywheel (which actually makes a difference)... and like I said, these were highway pulls, NOT from a dig, where those cars would have a huge advantage.

I wasn't bringing this up for bragging rights, I could care less about that... the reason why I brought up is because people under estimate the capabilites of a sport compact 4 cylinder.

i know 2 people, 1 that owns a z06 and 1 that owns 2 vipers, there is no chance in hell i could beat either of them. ive seen both of them race many of times, punch or dig it doesnt matter.

it is quite humerous. if he won, i attribute it to driver error. i think i may have the fastest 2.7 pulley mph and ET, and i have tasted many a c5 zo6 exhaust.

Well IDK, I just know they were trying, and the guy in the Viper gave us a thumbs up after we passed him... and it was well over normal driving speeds so I know both of them were trying. Not that I condone this, I usually ended up yelling at my X when he was driving like a *******, lol.

Was just an example, my Cobalt is not my pride & joy, particularly when It was technically my X's. I could give a rats ass about the car and I hope it gets totaled... But Im not some punk bitch that's going to make **** up, lol.

I never said the drivers of those cars didnt screw up, they certainly might have, lol, but the SS wasn't exactly slow either, that's all. I dont even care to talk about this any further, lol.

Whatever like i said it is my own opinion not a fact. As for the FWD Top fuel cars there are none but i am not racing any top fuel cars either, with them it's no replacement for displacement. Damn I take the FWD comment back.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Nice to see people actually read all the post and call bullshit. as for my FWD better traction comment I retract I agree it's not the best for racing/launching due to weight transfer and basic laws of motion so I stand corrected. thanks

Just for the hell of it... I looked this up

2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 4.6 - 13.0
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 4.1 - 12.5

C6s run in the 11s (even the non Z06 runs a mid 12)... like I said, different animal.

Now if my SS was actually tracked with the flywheel/grippy clutch (as it sat when it pulled those two cars) & possibly not running on stock bald pirellis that it had... that could make the 1/4 difference barely a few .1's off (from the 01 z06)... and thats not even considering the launch capabilities of the Vette being RWD... it seems like a perfectly capable drivers race on a highway pull.

I have nothing to prove but just thought I'd throw that out there, lol.

do you not understand that the Z06 & GTS (no matter what year) are highway monsters? THE ONLY WAY those cars would absolutely suck on a roll race is if they were automatics AND had some crazy insane stall, even then, they would catch up and walk you like you were standing still. seriously... you're talking out your ass right now. just stop, sign off the forum and walk away from the keyboard.

I have nothing to prove, I figured I'd even partially back up my claim since ya'll jumped down my throat for no reason and took my initial comment way out of context.

If I wanted to sit here and brag, my Cobalt is not the build I would be bragging about my achievments with.

Im sorry if you got butt hurt and took what I said as if I was coming from a different direction than I intended.

Besides, I love the LSX motors and would take one any day over my SS.

i'm not butt hurt at all. there's nothing for me to get "butt hurt" about. i'm simply calling BS on your claim of pulling a C5 Z06 & Viper GTS on the highway. especially with the mods you claimed. the information you proved to back up your claim doesn't even help your claim.

That's fine then. Don't believe me... I just don't like being made out to be a liar & making up BS claims.. because that is not what I'm about at all, nor would I sit here saying **** just to inflate my own ego. Specifically about a car that wasn't even technically mine at the time. lol. I know what I saw but it's apparently not going to change anyones mind so that's fine, leave it at that. This got taken way farther than it needed to be.

i'm not calling you a liar or some punk that's making up BS claims.... i just honestly doubt that a 260whp (roughly) Cobalt SS/SC pulled those "super cars" on the highway. it's obvious to me that they weren't even running and that your ex BF is a ******* trying to get them to race. once you guys "pulled" away from them they most likely pee'd their pants from laughing so hard.

but it's all good, you don't care anymore about the car so i'm going to drop the conversation where it's at now. take care and good luck selling the car.

If you can drive it will be a good race. The run a 14.1 to 13.8 (give or take depending on driver) and trap about 100.

with just GMPP stg II ,cut air box with k&n ,and axle back exhasut and heat exchanger i ran 14.00 and trapped about 103. the only thing keeping me from mid 13s was my driving and traction. with the header and smaller pulley (2.85) i trap about 105 but run the same becasue im lighting 2nd gear lol(driver mod is next)

Even tho you don't have exhaust id imagine your results would be close to the same due to the smaller pulley and more aggressive tune. id definitely do a header and exhaust with a 2.8" pulley gains from an intake are not worth the money, The factory unit is pretty well designed in my opinion and that money saved can go to traction mods or something.

In a dig it would be a close race and the odds are against you,he will be able to launch a lot easier being auto and RWD were as you will be fighting physics to maintain traction. but you could beat him.

From a roll you should win being as how they only trap 100 and with your mods you could trap 105 or more if you do the exhaust mods and depending on how aggressive the ottp tune is.

Both the c5 zo6 and older GTS trap about 117- 120. and are low 12 high 11sec cars...

I'll give ya maybe keeping up or not getting beat to badly but "pulled with some ease" is hard to swallow
Maybe from a dig and they just lit up the tires and then just gave up.
