Yeah, you have to remove the splash guard to gain access.

Instead of a cold air intake is there a FMIC for the SS?

A roots type supercharger does not benefit from a FMIC. Your IAT temps will go right back up after the air goes through it. The water to air IC works just fine as part of the intake manifold. If I were you I would rethink my goals about what I want out of my car. The only way you should look into a FMIC is if you go turbo. Short of that, any intake is functinal...

Not trying to give a free plug but try summitracing.com go to the online store type in your chevrolet cobalt and year and check out there intake selection. Shows pictures of the actual intakes for our car. Injen, K&N, and Aem. Even the black Injen one.

Im tryin to decided on which intake to go with cause I was reading that both the K&N and injen have fitment issues. I dont wanna bother with aem cause thats just a peice of pipe and a filter for 180 dollars. so for 40 more ruffly i could get a full hard pipe. Anyone that has just gotten either K&N or Injen and has had fitment issues let me know where u got it.

Damn, some people have fitment issues and some don't. Can't I get a straight answer as to what intake doesn't have fitment issues.?

almost all of the intakes look like they're made out of aluminum, which atracts more heat from the engine bay and heats up the air....arn't there any plastic ones out there?

My intake in made of SS...

Wrong...

My intake is 3" from the TB to the filter. And actually, I'm pretty sure it's the only "One-piece" 3" intake on the market. Not to mention that it's made of SS instead of Aluminum so it has better thermal conductivity.

I've got a video of us installing mine, took about 10 seconds. No fitment issues at all...

does anybody know if GM cold air intake will void the warranty.... i just ordered a 07/SS/SC and what to put on the GM cold air, stage 1 and the cat back exhaust (preformance). My dealer is telling me that the cold air intake is going to void the warranty,, but on the cobalt accessories site is says that the cold air intake has the 3 year 36 000 mile warranty if put on by the dealer

1)I didn't know GM made an intake for the SS/SC, I thought they just had one for the 2.4 SS? 2)Has anyone tried one of those no name intakes that are selling on ebay for around $70 US?

I have and after modding it I have had no problem. What I mean by modding is you must cut a piece of the pipe off at the tip where the filter connects because it has a smaller diameer than the rest of the pipe and it will sometime cause you to throw a code.
