hahaha yeah the Z06 would be out of my league. Knowing him though, he is just going to be like, damn you have a fast car and bragg 4cyl. cars. He is just miss-informed(ignorant) towards the subject!! He's a cool guy, just doesnt beleive 4 cyl. cars can run with him

this car is surprising from a roll. 40 is a sweet spot too. i see no reason why you shouldnt pull slightly on him. get it on video and let's see the outcome tho. the bickering going on in this thread is pointless without that.

hell, i've pulled neck and neck with a BMW M3 E46.... a car that would rape me in the 1/4

Yes please just race him and get it on tape to prove all these people who think Ls1's are unbeatable wrong. this thread is pointless people are just so ignorant. Your gonna win this race hands down. You said he is a fat **** and he has a conv. so right there you have a 550lb weight advantage. You have a 7000 rpm redline as opposed to his 6200 rpm redline allowing you to take more advantage of your gearing. from 40 to 110 you will hit good power in both 2nd and 3rd. He will start from a dead spot in second eventually hit good power but then he'll have to shift to third and will once again be in another dead spot. Do people not realize he has the shitty gear ratios of the 700 R4 tranny from the ****** 80's. The only diffenrence is hit tranny is electronically controlled, big whoop still has the worst splits of any gm auto tranny ever. The only thing the vette has going for is about 30 more whp which is easily overcome by all of your advantages i listed above. In this particular case the almighty vette/LS1 will lose to this lowly cobalt/LSJ.

exactly. Now if it was till 140mph where the vette tops out 3rd then id say the vette for the win but this is not the case.

Like I said i ran a c5 auto coupe vette with filter and catback and that thing pulled me hard. 4 cars from 40-140 and you have less mods then me so it would be worse. Not trying to bring you down but don't get your hopes up on beating him unless like someone said the car was beat to hell and not taken care of very well.

Ya thats true. The only time you will be ahead for a sec is when his car downshifts into gear. I would be really suprised if you were ahead till at least 100 because then the guy i raced was lying to me about his mods lol

dude i say you got this, i mean i took a v10 till like 130 after that it was like i slamed on my brakes lol i seen a 2000 eclipse gt take a v10 also (no not the same car, and from a dry stop not a roll)

I raced one of the full size Dodge SRT's with the V10 in em...He was quick, but not quick enough...Race the Vette and inform us how it went. Videos would be nice too...

First off thats a coupe...a convertible is quite a bit slower, secondly a filter and a catback is not stock, which also helps an LS1 and third off, they are not racing to 140. Please reread what they are racing and stop comparing your race against an entirely different car. It does not make a good comparison. And chances are..the guy had some long tubes and a retune on his car as well...never believe what someone tells you they have for mods, unless you know them or you loko at their car.

lol ya I should have stopped at 120. Well from the very start he pulled. It seemed the more top end speed we went, the further he pulled. Maybe our aerodynamics of this car aren't that great

i just raced the guy on sun and it wasnt a v10 i thought it was it ws the mercedes SL 55 amg, the eclipse did however race v10 the eclipse was heavly modded tho
