Stage 2 Question s/c

It's a stupid question but someone told me I lose power on 1 step colder plugs and are saying the stock a/c delcos are better. I would gain more power off the 1 step colder because it knocks off KR a little bit right?

thanks

Yes you usually want to go one step colder since your adding more boost on the stage 2 which will creat more heat in the combustion chamber and acolder plug will help bleed some of that hot temp out of the combustion chamber.

No.

The reason for one step colder plugs is to lower combustion chamber temperatures (hence the lower heat range). You may notice that its smoother to be honest.

Just put in the step one colder plugs today, didn't really notice a difference but it was recommended by my tuner (M-Dub)

Specify what Stage 2 you are.... GMS2, OTTPS2, ZZPS2??

If you are GMS2 the stock plugs are best. If you are either of the other "Stage 2" kits 1-step colder plugs are what you want.

I agree with Staged, GM stage 2 works fine with the stockers since the tune was more than likely with those plugs.. When I was stage 2 I never noticed any knock issues....

a spark plug serves 2 purposes 1 is to ignite air/fuel mix 2nd is to help control combustion temp if the temp gets to high you start loosing ring tension and parts start to get brittle and break and melt from getting to hot

if tis to cold you will foul plugs

and tunes are not plug specific and it is wise to run a colder plug with gms2

GMS2 does not need a colder plug. Infact, you will more than likley foul the plug out in the colder months. GMS2 does not create the power nor heat to justify a colder plug than the stock heat range. Can you run a colder plug? Sure, but check it after a few thousand miles and check to see how the plug is burning.
