Stage 2 Upgrade 3.1" or 3.0"?

I know there are a lot of threads about the stage kits but I have yet to get a definite answer on this. I have a stock cobalt aside from a stage 2 clutch and a zzp 3" CAI, is it safe to run a 3.0" pulley with 42# injectors and NO cooling mods? Or should I just go with the 3.1"? I plan on replacing my exhaust soon as well but I don't want to put money into cooling mods right now. I just don't need anything breaking. If any of you guys could help me Id appreciate it.

You could really go as far as 2.8 and 60's with no supporting mods, but you're IAT2's will be pretty high after 1 pull.

Its fine to run a 3.0 with no extra cooling mods.
However, it is not fine or safe to toss in a 3.0 and injectors and run it.
There is this thing, its called tuning for it.....

If your stock then stage up the right way.
Option B, FMHE, Dual pass, 3.0 or 2.9, 42's, wideband, and a custom tune.

I ran my 2.9 on gm stage 2 for a year before I put my option b, h/e and dual pass on. Just don't do pull after pull after pull and you should be fine

Alright I am leaning towards the 3.0 now and just not gonna beat on it too bad until I get the endplate and option b. My question now is 42# injectors okay to run on that?

Yes, 42# will handle 3.0 just fine. 2.9 and lower you're gonna wanna upgrade.

I was told by a reputable tuner on here that 42's would be fine for up to a 2.8"

Possibly since GMS3 is 2.9? ZZP says 42# max out at 3.1.. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

I maxed out 42s at around 5500 rpms on a 2.9 back in the day.
