Stage 3, dual pass, intake install - Now Issues!

Hey I install stage 3 pulley, PCM, ZZP dual pass and intake today, up from stage 2.

The car seems to be bogging down and almost losing power once it gets around 3000rpms.

Not sure if the PCM just needs to be synced to my VIN or if there is another issue.
Bought the PCM used with the stage 3 pulley. Suppose to have GMS3 on it.

Just looking for some input.

So, if you think its the tune, do i just go to the dealership and get them to sync it to my VIN through the OBDII port using the engine code reader, or make the pcm relearn the tune?

And is there any possible major harm driving it to the dealership like this, maybe 15-20 minutes, or should i switch back to my stage 2 pcm.

Might just change back my PCM and see if that solves the issue.

Exactly, screw the dealership. Ask around for people that use HPTuners in your area. For a price they will/should tune your car for you.

I changed the PCM back to stage 2 and it drives fine so PCM is definitely the issue.

I know some people at the dealership so if they can get it to relearn stage 3 and sync to my VIN for free or cheap I'll do that, if not I'll probably get another tune put on it.

There are different PCMs for different model years for the GM stagge 3 PCM. Are you sure you even have the correct PCM for your car?

GMR S3 does not need to be "sync'd" to your vin. It is a plug and play PCM with a nulled out vin within the PCM parameters.

As for a tune, it is one of the best tunes around (next to custom). Refined on the Time Attack SS/SC & Land Speed cars. It is a totally different animal than GMS2. GM did a very nice job on it.

Most people know nothing about the GMR kit. I've been running a full GMR setup since 09' with zero issues.

This.

OP, what year is your car? Take a look on the back of the PCM, and see if it matches your year.

There is an 05' GMR S3 PCM & 06'/07' GMR S3 PCM.

Ya my car is 2006, PCM is 2006/2007.

So its the right PCM, definitely needs a relearn or something though i think.

There is no such thing as a relearn, unless you are talking about VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) or CKP a (Crankcase Position) relearn, which I don't think either are applicable in this case. Are you sure you have all the factory stage 3 parts for your car if you have a factory stage 3 ECM/PCM? You cannot fudge any of the pieces, most importantly the injectors as the flow rate, pulse width and adders must match exactly or you will have driveability issues.

Good to see its fixed, but this is the first time I have heard someone requiring a relearn done. The GMS3 PCM has always been plug and go with no dealer interaction needed
