stage installation opinions

ok so let me explain the situation to you guys. I'm nearing the end of buying the stage 2 componets (pulley, hub, injectors, etc) seperately. It actually worked out to be cheaper. anywho, my friend who is a mechanic for toyota is going to install the kit for me for free. now even though he works for toyota, he is ase certed and more than qualified. while I'm not really that concerned about warranty, it would be nice to keep it. any chance it won't get voided? also note, I bought the car used, so my warranty is carried through chrysler. does anyone even think they'd notice the smaller pulley and the injectors if I had it there for warranty work? I personally doubt it because how many cobalts does a dodge tech see to notice a 3" pulley vs a 3.35" also, my buddy is a chevy salesman, so after the install I'm gonna take it to his dealership to get the ecu flashed. think they'll even do it? or am I better off doing something else like a custom tune? if so where/who? lol or can I make it without the flash? I know that last one is a n00b question lol

p.s. the only things for the kit that aren't GM are the injectors (lucas) and the hub is nates

I dunno about your warranty.. But I don't think you can just walk into the dealership and ask them to reflash it.. I'm pretty sure you need a code for a reflash (that comes with the stage kits). Your probably going to need a custom tune.

im not sure dude. just keep the pulley stock black. and yes it voids the warranty if your friend installs it. has to be a gm rep. and it will cost you about 90 bucks for a stage2 reflash from gm

Word for word from the end of the Stage 2 instructions manual...

"Important!
If you have not previously installed the Stage 1 Supercharger Upgrade Kit you must perform the following:
Your vehicle must be taken to your GM Dealer to have the new calibration flashed to your ECM. You will ask for your calibration by part number depending on which vehicle you have installed the Supercharger Upgrade Kit on.
Ask for one of the following part numbers:
2005 Cobalt ss/sc - Calibration data file - 12607644
2006 Cobalt ss/sc - Calibration data file - 12607645
For 2007's ask for calibration and diagnostic part numbers as follows:
2007 ss/sc - Calibration and Diagnostic data files - 12614366 & 12614368
"

Idk if that helps, but I think it will for taking it to the dealer

ok those part numbers are helpful...hmm...I mean does anyone think I should just get the reflash, or am I better off getting a custom tune? and if so, anyone on here to recommend to do it?

I'm not sure. I'm planning on getting it reflashed right after everything is installed just to be safe. I'm planning on getting it tuned some where (maybe Tune Time in Tom's River) after I save up some more money again haha
