Stage Kits Warranty Yes or No?

GM knows when they are releasing them if they saiy it or not and they also know if they will be warranty voiding.

Does anyone know who to contact to find out a 100% answer?

I am tired of stock and only have this car to have something with a warranty. If the stage kits are going to void my warranty I am selling this thing.

One of the guys on our forums, redline forums, actually went to SEMA and talked to the guys that were in charge of the kits and they told him that they would be warrantied for 3yr/36,000

Your right. Mopar voids the warranty if you install any of there stage kits. And that would be the reson they have sold almost none of them.

Later

There is a warranty on the stage parts themselves for 3/36 but will adding them VOID any part of the cars warranty?

And yes I would sell it if adding the kits will void my warranty. I go much faster for much cheaper if warranty isn't an issue.

come on guys....this myth about adding anything will void your warranty is BS. I don't know specifics about what GM will offer as far as a warranty for the kits, they will be under some kind of warranty. GM usually offers something for parts, something 12 months/12,000 miles. There are laws that prevent the manufacturer from voiding your warranty from simply adding something to your car. If GM decides to void the warranty totally, which I highly doubt they are that stupid, for our vehicles because we purchased and installed the stage kits, I won't sell my car I'd start a class action suit.
My example.....Literature from GM led me to believe that they would be. I have the pictures to prove it. I'm not worried

I am under the impression from reading info in various places that :

1) If you install the parts yourself - parts only are under warranty . Not to sure beyond that vague statement .

2) If a GM dealer installs the staged kits , they will be incorporated into your new car powertrain warranty .

#2 sounds like the most realistic answer . Legally it would just be a HUGE can of worms if they were to honor a powertrain warranty , when parts were installed by non-GM qualified techs . They would have no verifiable information to validate the parts were installed right . Thats where #1 would come in , integretity of the parts themselves would be under warranty , but your on your own should u have a mechanical failure caused by the parts in question .

Sorry no actual facts , just prudent speculation from what Ive heard .

Ok, well to go along with these staged upgrade Q's and A's I have a small one to add. Why does the Intense kit seem to produce more power than the GM staged kits...is it the pulley size? injectors?.

GM's kit has to be 50 state legal , emissions wise . Also , they arent going to run the most efficient PCM tune for max power . The staged PCM's are still gonna be nice and safe , tuned to the rich side . And for warranty concerns they wont even come close to maxing the blower out RPM wise . "IF" GM ran a smaller pulley than 3.0 ....like a stage 3 , you could probably count on a different S/C entirely .

No one even has the gm kit yet, so we really don't know. But the intense kit does make more boost(2.8 pulley)

well when i bought my car, the dealer who sold (wont let them touch it ever again) told me that i was a qualified technician that would be able to service my own car, being as how i am a ASE/emissions certified

now the dealer that i let say, put axles in
and will prolly install the stage kits
has told me 1.5 hours for stage 2 install plus 1 hour reflash
2.5 hours in my book is almost or over 300 dollars
so if i pay 3 bills on the install, they better not say anything other than
"your car is badass, SIR!"

also local performance shop quoted me like 190 for the stage two but they obviously cannot do a dealer reflash

This information came directly from GM Performance Parts

Both Stage 1 & 2 kits will carry a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on parts. And adding them to your car will not void any warranties.
