There isnt really all that much that needs to be done that eaton hasnt already done for you from the production line. Porting in the inlet side definitely helps but the outlet side is such a delicate process sometimes the risk outweighs the benefit.
Calling the Venom snout cooler a joke is like calling a parachute on the rear of a car a joke. Some guys need that parachute just like a guy running a blower on a boat, RV or tow rig could use the cooler if he's eating up blower bearings. I think it's a fix for bearing problems more than cooling the charge. On a Cobalt? Yea it's a joke.

You might benefit slightly from a venom cooler type setup (for the snout) keeping the blower cooler but from what I read a while back the lightweight rotors weren't worth the upgrade as said previously here.
How much did the Steig porting run you, if you don't mind me asking? I know I am not going the TVS route, so I may consider doing this if the price isn't too outrageous

I will be running a TVS next year when I figure out a few things. The ported blower and LS1 tb with all my mods should yield plenty of fun for now on a quality tune. Im almost done paying off my truck and looking for a house to buy so I don't want to drop $1.5k into a blower just yet.

05RLS2, I bought the blower from someone already ported from Steig. I believe they charge $450 or so for the port job. I paid less than that for the blower which already had the smooth flow hub on it too, like what I have. So it was a win win for me at the cost of a stock M62 in good condition. Swapped the 2.8" over and polished up the blower, done.

I would say the only thing Ive contemplated investing in is a proper flow through coolant tank for the heat exchanger/dual pass set up I have vs the Option B. And 'possibly' the snout cooler (venom cooler). But as stated, once you put a few hundred into each mod to make the M62 more efficient, you've already spent at least 3/4 the cost of just buying a stock TVS which is already cooler, makes more power, and does it with less effort (w/out having to drop in pulley size). Once I go TVS, its literally all out. I plan to build a full LSJ up to the max, aggressively ported head, a lot of methanol (pump gas), and make a beast of a dd. It'll be a nice little sleeper base Cavalier. I actually am dropping the LSJ in next week, just waiting on the GMPP clutch upgrade.
