Stock SS/SC WHP?

What is stock SS/SC WHP, not what GM speculated, but dyno'd. I know I heard from like 198-235hp. But does anyone have a dyno sheet or anything along those line?

Alright...so I guess their is no real baseline, cause I've just been seeing alot of different numbers, and their is quite a difference in them....and can I just say, I really do like this forum so much better than the RL forum...to many people that don't understand that when they race people, they usually beat the driver and not the vehicle they are racing....

every car is different.
no two cars will do the exact same hp and torque.

the only way your gonna get somewhat the same reading is if you did the dyno in the same city same dyno , and put one car on and then rolled it off and moved onto the next cobalt and so on and so forth , everycar is also made different but i have seen a cobalt put down 221 with an intake and im in Central TX

don't forget corrections... half the dyno's i see on this forum are STD and have not been corrected.

but certainly numbers will mainly vary upon dyno and settings

dynojet, pynapack, mustang dyno.

where you located at the jersey shore?

after a year of watching, a guestimate average would be 200whp mustang, 215whp dynojet.

those are broadly estimated, but its very rare for us to see a stock ss/sc dyno below 200. regardless of what type of dyno.

i've heard that mustang dynos actually underrate fwd cars around the 10whp range, but like i said...that's what i heard. where are some good dynos around the tri-state area? i'd really like to see what i'm putting down before my stage 2.

Well I was cruising around with my friend last night...all he has now is the "air box modification"....it feel like it has alittle more torque now....but he kept with a Mustang GT w/ 4.10's. It wasn't a bad pull at all from 40...

Actually, every production car has to have a "baseline". If our SS/SC "has no real baseline", then neither can your car have one either.

See what I'm saying?

The Law of Physics demands that every car "has a baseline."

So what you are really saying here is that you can not determine the SS/SC's baseline by comparing one person's dyno numbers to another's. But this is absolutely true of ALL cars.

No Exceptions.

Get enough people to dyno their car, and you will always get varying sets of numbers to go along with it.

I've been to SRT Forums, Mustang Forums, Ms3 Forums, Pontiac Forums etc., and you will find precisely the same thing being reported over there. Our cars are no different.

People getting different whp numbers for the same stock vehicle will (as a rule) always produce varying results.

That is because ALL cars are affected by and subject to:
  • what type of dyno they used
  • where they dynoed their car (altitude)
  • and whether or not their numbers had been adjusted for weather conditions

So what you have to do is find out what range MOST of those numbers are falling into.

Most stock SRT-4's for instance, fall into the 220-230fwhp range. In the same manner, most SS/SC's are making about 210-220fwhp.

Hope that answers your question!
