Well I just got back from the dealership. They even said gasket was fine, they did find 1 cracked line but replaced it and said everything looks right. Then said the surges were because of my pulley (2.85). Well, even with hose replaced, I still have the problem.

Where should the vacuum be at when idling? It was around 18-20 before dealership, now it starts out around 15-16 and will drop after I drive a little to 18-20. When first turning on it will rev to about 1.5k and then drop to about 1k, then couple seconds its around and doesn't bounce anywhere, but still here the sound from the exhaust.

So im really confused right now.

when the engine is cold the vacuum will be less because the rpm is a little higher so it warms up faster. and of course as the engine warms up the rpm and vacuum will go to where it needs to be. the 18-20 at idle after warm up is what it is soppused to be. your car is running good. like i said before the sound you hear is probably a slight miss-fire at idle. have the dealership scan and see if they can see any mis-fires.

im having the exact same problems. everyhting you have done i did also only i have just the gm stage 2 with the 77.9 pulley.

at least i think thats what i have haha

thats what it says on the pulley, but iv heard some people say that some pulleys have the correct size on the other side of the pulley and it says the gm stage 2 on the side you can see when installed

anyway, if you ever find a fix for the idle and air sounding exhaust sound, i would be a happy man

Here is an update. I decided it might help to try and get a sound file. So here it is at idle. You can here when the air surges with a puff type sound. sorry its bad audio its from my cell phone.

http://www.zshare.net/download/60969053a6b6209e/

Also I installed my interceptor today and looked at the misfies. It quite often misfired alot. When driving it would frequently say misfire #3 2 then say 4 then sometimes change to 6 real quick. I noticed when I shifted #4-8 almost always jumped to 2. Got alot of randomness in all 8 numbers ranging from 1-6. #3 was the worst though.

Also, it tells me that my vaccum is around 14-16 at idle, even after driving for a bit.

Edit: I see that I can ignore all cyl from 5-8. I still got quite a few between all other 4 though, but its mostly 3.

I even had times when # 5 6 and 8 would jump to 16 and #3 jumped to 64 a couple of times.

Dont know if this information helps at all.

Hoses have all been checked twice by me and dealership, gasket checked by me and dealership. Dealership checked my injectors and said 0rings were fine. They are blamming the surges on my 2.85 pulley (which ran fine for the first two weeks).

So anything else I can try, or retry again. Hope some of this information helps, its really pissing me off.

edit New link for MP4 File type

i have been having the same problems man, just witha p0455
when the car is cold, the vacuum will jump up to 10 and start sounding like an STI and then go back down to 20, lots of carbon/ water out the exhaust, this happens every few seconds when the car is warming up

mine seems to be a bad injector. Will update when I get new ones. Just trying to find a place that sells them. OTTP doesn't seem to want to answer my pms at all so they must not be interested in selling.
