Struts and mounts cobalt ss/sc 07

Hello,

I browsed a lot of threads but did not find all the info I need.

Went to the dealership and was told that my left front strut is leaking. Was told that I need to replace struts and mounts.

Was also told that there is a quick kit instead of the full kit (not sure what they meant - is it a special strut with mount ??).

Anyhow, I found on ott a kit with front, rear struts and shocks with springs. I am thinking about changing the whole thing instead of just the front (not sure it is good to change the front and not the rear) but I did not find anything about suspension mounts.

So, what would your advice be? change only the front struts and mounts? change front and rear and shocks? Where should i get mounts? Ever heard of the quick kit?

Thanks for your answer

Cobalt ss/sc 07 (I read that using the ss/tc strut/shocks is ok)

Depending on how many miles I would change the mount. They r known to make noise. Personally if I was over 60k I would do them. And the quick strut is a strut spring and mount kit already assembled. Which means no swapping springs and less labour. The mounts from ced are like 50 bucks each.

struts and mounts

thanks for the info.

BCM,

for the mounts, should I get the bearing as well? at rock auto they have this

RAYBESTOS Part # 5201478 Professional Grade
Contains Bearing; Front for about 1/3 of the price of the ones u mentioned.

Am I missing something? and yes, I will replace the rear shocks as well but keep my oem springs (car has 100k).
