Switching to E85
So after a year of envying you guys with your E85 the Shell station right by my house just installed a pump and I couldnt be more excited. Since Im new to the corn fuel I wanted to know if I was good to go now for a mixture. My buddy's wrx has a Cobb tune and he's gradually weening onto the stuff. I have a custom tune, stock pump and 60's, what could I safely do right now with no other mods?
you can't just put e85 in your tank without an e85 tune. You can put a little bit, but what's the point? you still have your gas tune. get 80# injectors or a fuel system like frazier said. Putting e85 in your tank is not "instant power" you NEED to get the spark advance from a new tune to actually benefit, otherwise your not making any power from a mixture in your tank.

Im aware of that, but as the first post said the Cobb tune in the WRX can self adjust its maps if slowly introduced to the e85, apparently without any tuning or mods up to a 33% mixture
the wrx is different than the ss. not sure why you mentioned this, it has a cobb tune. your ss will not adjust the maps slowly when introduced to e85.
