Knightrider22... The tensioner has a square 3/8 hole in bracket. Place a 3/8 drive breaker bar or rachett end into it. Use that for leverage, the tensioner assembly should then move easily.

i did that mod earlier this week, what you need to do is wrap a screwdriver with a towel then place screwdriver on the top of the tensioner and push down, make sure you have the end of ur screwdriver under the black bracket behind the tenisoner. once you get that push down and hold then with ur other hand take belt off the supercharger pulley, if you are gonna swap DO NOT use the 3 jaw puller, speaking from exp. i fucked up my old pulley.

also if you cant get the stock pulley off, or used a 3 jaw and found out it will **** up ur pulley its best to take the super chager off to get the belt back on (u do this by putting the belt on the pulley then drawing down the opposite side with your screws), with someone holding down the tensioner.......if not you'll be fighting it and get pissed like i did.

if this doesnt make sense let em know and ill send u pictures

You need a 15mm open end wrench. right behind the pulley the is a square raise nipple right next to the engine lift eyelet. put the wrench on there and push to the back of the car. i push down on the pulley to help it along becuase it does suck another wonderful gm design. that is how i do mine and did wheni put the 3.1 pulley on

Drive Belt Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important: The drive belt tensioner is a hydraulic tensioner with high initial torque. Release slowly to ensure proper operation.

Important: Depending on the tolerances of the open end portion of different manufactures wrenches, ensure that care is taken so the wrench does not slip off of the lug.

Install a tight fitting 15 mm open end wrench to the drive belt tensioner lug on the rear of the tensioner.

Very slowly push down and towards the back of the vehicle in order to slowly compress the drive belt tensioner.

Remove the drive belt from over the drive belt tensioner.
Very slowly, allow the drive belt tensioner to return to the extended position.
Remove the drive belt from around the supercharger and generator pulleys.
Remove the right front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
Remove the drive belt from under the idler pulley and around the air conditioning (A/C) compressor and crankshaft balancer.
From through the wheel house opening, remove the drive belt.
Installation Procedure

From through the wheel house opening, install the drive belt.
Route the drive belt around the A/C compressor and crankshaft balancer and under the idler pulley.
Install the right front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
Route the drive belt around the supercharger and generator pulleys.
Ensure that the drive belt is still properly seated in the pulley grooves.

Very slowly push down and towards the back of the vehicle in order to slowly compress the drive belt tensioner.
Install the drive belt over the drive belt tensioner.
Very slowly, allow the drive belt tensioner to return to the extended position until tension is applied to the drive belt.

Remove the 15 mm open end wrench from the drive belt tensioner lug on the rear of the tensioner.
