Tensioner pulley...
Tensioner pulley...
Guy's I feel sorta stupid asking this but how exactly do you work the tensioner pulley? I can't seem to figure this out. I didn't even worry about it when i was taking the supercharger off but now im staring at a motor and can't figure out which bolt i need to pull down on...Can you give me a picture of the exact bolt you use.
Well i've been doing that with a breaker bar and it looks like it's taking up slack in the belt. Do i keep the belt on the tension pulley or do i stick it on the supercharger then pull the pulley down and put the belt around it?
Yea...The supercharger pulley is fine i was talking about the tensioner.
To make things clear in red that is the tensioner right?

the shock that on min isn't centered it over to the back of the motor.
Bump

yeah, that's the tensioner.... if your using the stock s/c pulley, it's just going to be a struggle to slip the belt over it. You gotta compress the hell outta the tensioner. Using the biggest prybar you can fit in that small of a space is going to be your best mode of attack.
Install a tight fitting 15 mm open end wrench (1) to the drive belt tensioner lug on the rear of the tensioner. Very slowly push down and towards the back of the vehicle in order to slowly compress the drive belt tensioner.
hey bolus,
thank's for the image that's all i needed. Unfortunately I don't even want to look at my car today after what happened yesterday. im off tomorrow and I will attempted it then.

anyone know where I can buy the tensioner? auto part stores don't have it and the dealers wants about 225 for it.
That wrench trick did not work for me at all. I took a piece of flat steel a few inches wide and rested it on that square block on the top of the tensioner. Next I used that bracket used for pulling the engine as a pry point to push down on the flat steel I had resting on the tensioner. My engine is mounted in a sand rail and I don't know what the car allows but it went very well the way I did it.
