yes, I knew that. but that doesn't answer my question.
My question is does it pass emissions when i take it in for emissions and inspection? I don't need to know about inspection just emissions..
Oh yeah... And don't shout at me roel... its not nice.

im curious about something....with a cai like injen of fujita wouldnt that make the car run even leaner thus more dangerous to run with a 50 shot+stage 3..and wouldnt it make the injectors max out even more to compensate for the extra air?.i seen roelss afr on that dyno and it was cutting it a little close but he just has a drop in filter....sorry about the thread jack dude but ill be getting stage 3 soon and i think it might be safer with just the stock intake...and i didnt want to start another noob thread....

According to GM it's not meant for emissions because it considered an OFF-ROAD product. So more than likely, it probably won't. By the way, i'm not shouting at you, It was more a good thing because you don't get a check engine light. (Like a Homer Simpson, 'Whoo Hooo!) Sorry about that.

Yeah, thats why I put the stock intake on, since GM did design the kit around a stock intake. Any aftermarket intake will make your car run leaner. I was actually thinking about putting the paper filter back in, it will probably fix the AFR's. Besides, it's easier to drill the hole on the rubber/plastic intake vrs drilling and sealing on a metal/aluminum pipe.

I was wondering this . Can I tap the Kand N intake on mine to run the nitrous. Will it run that much leaner if I run nitrous... I was hoping not to take it out but if it is a mater of frying a piston then I wil switch back.

From way back when the cold air intakes 1st came out, I remember some people were getting CEL for lean conditions. Since GMPP stage 2 is runs richer, some people didn't get that CEL. I didn't want to risk it. I used to have the $200 k&n typhoon, sold it for $140 and used the funds towards stage 3 instead. You can always do the air box mod too, but I don't know how the engines AFR's will respond.

hmm interesting I will try it with the Kand N intake and let you know . Saving right now for the dyno tune dry shot kit. I never got a code for running too lean . Just fitment issues. Plus I heard that it was too much oil on the filter that got onto the MAF that threw a code

lol i wish my test grades shown that

How much would we benefit from removing the stock A/C condenser?? Since stage 3 removes the capabilities of A/C I figured hell, Why not just remove the A/C condenser? How hard is it to do this??
Also I've been doing some searching but does anybody know how much better will it be to run 60/40 water/coolant in the summer time and possibly some water wetter or something?? And will you actually hafta change out a 60/40 mixture for the winter? During winter I see temps below freezing

Here is Florida I know alot of guessing running straight water.... I really would like to run straight water wetter through it but it would be like 100 bucks in that stuff.... I didn't even spend that to install the cobra! I don't know if any performance gains is really seen running the wetter but every little bit helps im sure The stock AC condenser is the closest to the engine and is connected to everything else (radiator, stock intercooler) by a special GM connector piece. The bumper will have to come off for sure to get it out... Hope that helps.

alright... thanks

Any body else with info on what the best mixture is for the intercooler and engine cooling system? I'm thinking about running 60/40 water/coolant but idk how that would hold up in winter if i'd hafta change it out or not... it gets a little below freezing here.

The best coolant on earth is pure water. Use that with one dose of water wetter and you'll see some nice gains.

Too bad water freezes, so this is a summer only thing for sure. Are you hardcore enough to change coolant twice a year?

we'll im worried about running straight water... even if i've got a can of water wetter in... I'd Like to go with 60/40 water/coolant but idk how much of a cooling difference there will be.. the reason i ask is because i'll have stage 3 in a couple of days but i have no cooling mods... changing out coolant is the cheapest route to go

Does anybody know if the stage 3 ecu has the fans come on earlier then stock? I know some of the things stage 3 does but don't know the actual settings.

I have a 05 stage3 PCM for sale, $285 shipped.

and there is a how-to by mcwarren, that tells you how to hook AC back up.

sweet... thats insane.
As for installing the stage 3... i havent yet due to warranty reasons... the dealership made me take my mounts and **** off cuz they think thats what was causing my screeching at idle. I personnaly think its the timing chain since my build date is in the middle of when GM had the issue with non heat treated chains. Who knows.. I'll post a thread about it since i'll be installing Stage 3, belt, injectors, old motor & trans mounts, and possibly a downpipe if the member ever gets back to me about it.
