Changing it every 3K is a waste. 5K intervals is the way to go.

Mobil 1 is the easiest to find around me. It works for now, but I can definitely feel it dragging my engine down once I hit like 40% Oil Life on the dash, but I drive my car pretty hard and I usually change it around 35-40% anyway. None of the synthetics are cheap, but thats what happens when you buy a high performance car; expensive oil and 93 octane. I still love my SS.

Royal Purple 5W-30 in all four of my vehicles along with Royal Purple in their transmissions as well. Change the oil religiously at 3000 miles reguardless, and always use Mobil 1, K&N, or Purolator Micron depending on which vehicle it is. All of them run quieter, smoother, and get great gas mileage.

No, seriously, you'll notice an very slight difference in the way in the rev speed. The car drives different, no joke.

I don't understand the people who come on here and post something like that just to be a jackass. How about you let us use the forum for what its meant for without adding useless posts?

offlightsedge, i would be pleased if you could quantify your assumption with real data. until then its all speculation. My car runs much better when I wash it...

Okay, all I said is it 'feels like' I can tell a difference in how the engine performs when the oil is old and dirty versus fresh clean oil and a new filter. Sorry, its probably all in my head then. You still don't have to be a tool about it. Just ignore what I say and move on, don't post that I'm '******* high' or any useless trash like that.

Whatever, I think Mobil 1 is fine, I've never had a problem with my engine, and it runs strong all the time without complaint. That is all I was trying to say.
