Trouble

Earlier today I was driving on the bypass doing about 60 and out of no where I heard a loud pop. I lost power to the car, and quickly pulled over. My friend behind me said black dark smoke was coming out from underneath the car and exhaust. When I opened the hood i found the supercharger belt was severed in half and there were pieces of it everywhere on the engine. I was wondering what caused this and did it cause any more internal damage underneath the car. (2005 colbolt ss/sc, 14,000 miles)

Whomever did your install may have not gotten the hub on straight and the belt was angled and destroyed itself... take it back to the dealer... you don't have that many miles and it's still under warranty!
