You can still gain by porting the head, just not the blower. If you're running the TVS leave the blower alone and let it do its thang.

I would say a TVS would technically do it as well. I am still on a m62 and should bang a mid to high 12 on just slicks. Most people think they can drive their cobalt until they get to the track and sucks. Hence why not alot of people have set good times

Other cars have done it with a lot less power than some of us TVS people put out.

No one seems to want to do what it takes when it comes to these cars except for shop cars. Suspension, tires, weight reduction, etc, and driving the **** out of it without being scared to break something. If you're not willing the beat the living **** out of it at the track, it probably won't happen.

Majority of this forum thinks just because they mod the car and give it more power, that their E/T will keep going down.

I am hunting your record too. Hopefully surpass that tomorrow. Believe you hold the record for a street tire driven LSJ.

There is also a 13.0 but believe its on DR i could be wrong.

Darkmanx gained 50whp by just swapping to a ported head and no further tuning done.

320 to 370 on the TVS and stock block. He then parted it out and traded it in.

U are correct. I wish u luck on that 13.1 pass i found out my meth wasnt working. Getting a new kit from rodney and retuning for the meth. Key to these stock blowered cars is decent iats and one hell of a driver mod. I only dynoed around 270ish without the meth when i ran that time. I scratch my head at the tc guys well in the 300s running high 13s still.

Orly? I need to save up my pennies. Would get lots of giggles throwing down 400whp in a supercharged car. My car put down 345 with 100% stock motor, no header, and GMPP (smaller than stock) exhaust.

my whip is a daily driver... but will be a fun daily driver... im just taking a huge loan out and just doing the car up hard... tired of people talking **** on cobalts on how slow they are... granted i beat plenty of cars with a 2.6pulley and 60# injectors with other crap... but anyways it seems like everyone is saying tvs is the way to go with a worked motor... and thanks everyone for your input... im just still trying to debate on a tvs or a turbo... cuz S/C are a b*tch to make power... and turbos are easy... need something challenging that not many people do..

Slapping a big turbo on and turning up boost isn't going to get you 11s.

If your willing to take a big loan out to make the Cobalt "fast", why not just trade the car in on something like a new Camaro or Mustang, run 11s with bolt ons and tires. Perfect DD.

Turbo swap and slicks is going to be the easiest way. Any other way is going to take a lot more money and a lot more work.
