Trying to keep up with my buddy!

My buddy has an audi S4, and told me that there were probably forums for tuning my car...well hes right!

My question is, how can I keep up with him? He has a 2002 Audi S4 and he showed me that it dyno'd 282/340 AWHP?AWTQ (idk what the A means?)

Mine apparently has 205. So, what can I do to get that 80 horsepower?! I'm a noob...he told me there are probably just "ECU"s to get me more power since all he has is an ECU and an exhaust.

Its pretty crazy and now i want in!

Suggestions?!

you wanna beat him in a race or beat him with horsepower numbers? Your car is lighter than his so to beat him in a race you wont need as much power as he has.

A means all.. like 282awhp would be all wheel horsepower.. yours would just be 282whp.. but stage 3 kit from ZZP and a pretty good tune, and you won't be far behind..... throw E85 or meth in there and walk him..

well, a tune will open the stock SS/SC ok. but honestly if you want to make up that power you will need to pulley down and then get a tune.

First I'd recommend ZZP 3in intake, then ZZP Stage 3 kit. and a custom tune. Get the 80# injectors and tune for E85. that's a really good start.

Lowest dyno I've ever seen on a stock SS/SC is 213 WHP. Most I've seen dyno around 217 - 218 in stock form. I have seen some higher than that as well. GM/Chevy underrated the HP on these cars

Well first welcome. I would suggest just as people have on here so far. Get a zzp downpipe, intake, and stage 3 kit. Pulley depends on your injectors, and what you plan to do. The safe route is 80's since they can handle just about whatever you throw at them. However, the 2.7-2. 9" pulleys seem to be the sweet spot and most common. Then a good custom tune and you are set.

Get an HPT tune by a qualified tuner in your area, 80lb injectors (so you dont have to buy again), pulley down to a 2.7, 2.8 or 2.9 in, run E85 if available or run methanol injection, one step cooler spark plugs, a midlength or long tube header, a 3 in intake (so you dont have to buy again), a down pipe, a 3 in exhaust (2.5 will do but once again I dont like buying things twice) and make sure you have cooling mods like a front mount heat exchanger, dual pass end plate or secondary heat exchanger tank (two out of the three should work well).
