Tuning
Tuning
I have a stock 06 SS/SC and I was thinking about just getting a tune, or possible 42lb. injectors and a tune. How much horsepower can be gained from just a tune, and from a tune and 42lb injectors? Would it be better to get just a tune or 42s and a tune than a stage 2 or would it be better to just get a stage 2? Also, is there anyone in or around Maryland that can tune, and how much would it cost to get tuned? Sorry if I **** anyone off by asking this. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
anyone?
anyone?

Heres what I did.
I paid 700 for stage 2 kit and dealer install it was easy. Ordered the kit from the GM store at the dealer and on the day after it arrived I took the car to their shop in the morning and got it back after work. Did a quick 30-70 pull on the hiway entrance ramp to make sure I got to 7k rpm and felt the additonal power and I was done. No muss no fuss.
That was just my expierence though I've read horror stories from others.
Now that I have hind site this is what I should have done.
100 dollars for smaller pulley and hub (smoothflow pulleys), 50 for a smaller belt (crate engine depot), 160 for 4 42# injectors (gbody parts), 500 for HPTuners, and a stage 2 file from someone with HPT.
Install all the parts yourself or with a friend, download the stage 2 file, cut and paste it, upload to your cars computer and viola your car is now stage 2 with the ability to fine tune at your fingertips all for just a little over 800 bucks and your time, what ever you think its worth.
