I'm looking to install a turbo in my 06 ss. I just want a ballpark figure of what I'm going to shoot for. I don't need nothing to big maybe put me in the 300hp range. Better is fine. Really I love the sound of the turbo, Installed how much would something like that run me? 2k? 3k?

Haha... why don't YOU decide how much HP you want... and then get back to us.

You can use cheap, shitty parts, and do it for $1500 maybe. Doing it properly with parts that are built to last will run you $3k-$4k, depending what you go with.

a good used kit will be $3000ish + install + tune if you don't do it yourself

cheap kit like usmc said, $1500ish + install + tune and that's like throwing darts in a dark room. it may work, it may not. the question you have to ask yourself, is are you willing to invest the unforeseen amount of time and extra expenses if it does not work?

I use the Vulcan Equal Length Manifold with the DSM TD05 flange.

I've got a lovely new piece in my living room though.

I didn't say I wanted shitty parts. I know you can get different sizes of a turbo and I didn't need some huge turbo is all going for the most HP, Nothing to do with quality of install. I wanted a ball park figure is all. 3-4k isn't bad really. I'll certianly want it done right I just wanted to know what I'm looking at is all.

no matter the kit, expect an extra $1000 for unexpected incidentals and expenses.

if you're not sure on all of this stuff, get a ZZP turbo kit and be done with it. If you can't bend/cut pipe, machine stuff etc... in your garage, then it's going to be a pita.

I didn't say that you said you wanted shitty parts. I was just saying it can be done very cheaply with shitty parts.

Hahn Intake Manifold: $800
Vulcan Equal Length Manifold: $800
GT3071R: $1200
ETS Intercooler: $400
Tial BOV: $250
Tial Wastegate: $250

Real rough... but it gets the point across. And that's not including Piping, Alternator Solution, Oil Lines, or downpipe fabrication.

on the intercooler, this is the first garret fmic i've see, it's alot higher quality that the ones i see around most places. they offset each row of fins so it's not a straight shot through with the air.

yesterday me and another guy went running down the road and doing a 3rd alll the way to 5th wot run (somewhere past 160mph) in 76 degree temps, the highest the IAT2's got was 95 degrees lol not sure if these just really work that well, or if the dual intercooling does, either way that's ******* great temps for a 20-30 second wot run

I'll have it professionally done for sure I just wanted to know what I might be looking at.

thanks for the help though, I'll want everything I can get done to help maintain a longer engine life.

I got my intercooler from CXracing with a piping kit and t-bolt clamps for less than $200. It will get you up and running and if you want to go bigger in the future you can.
