TVS 1320 Ported vs Non-Ported (DYNO)

TVS PORTED VS UNPORTED DYNO

Mods:
TVS 1320 | 2.6 PULLEY | 60 LB INJECTORS
Ported head
3" intake | stock ported throttle body
badmab header | 2.5" high flow dp and catback
water/meth
HpTunes were the same

Some smoothing was done to the inlet, and the outlet was opened up a tiny amount. There isn't enough material on the HARROP TVS to port like the Eaton m62.

------

For fun we loaded a tune I made to mimic an e-85 timing table, unfortunately we ran into knock past 6500 rpm @ 26* of advance. Just needs more water/meth jetting. I imagine had the knock not occured, it would of hit 340whp.

I'm sure this car would benefit from a full 3" catless exhaust... not to shabby tho

So is this to prove that porting the TVS is a waste of time?

see the curve past 5k... if you want to squeeze out every last bit of power, no.

no doubt... its a cool blower, and we cranked 330whp on 2.5 exhaust/Mild head port and a mild tune.

Its a good way to spin tires loose in 2nd gear... dunno if it justifies spending 2k for it though. I'd rather have a MP90 and produce similar gains for half the cost

On a side note... in order to run a super aggressive tune, a substantial amount of w/m jetting needs to be used. Way more than this forum is used to seeing/using. If you plan on just running 91/93 octane... forget it... stay on the m62.

the TVS line doesnt need porting, doesnt want porting, and eaton strongly advises against it (which is also why there isnt really much material left to port, as you pointed out). Results show why really. gain 4 hp, but lose 5 ft-lbs=less area under the curve
interesting to see it demonstrated

yeah it gains 4whp @ peak, and shifted the torque higher post 5k, resulting in higher hp over all post 5k.

Those looking for more power... its up to them. We'll toss the ls4 on soon enough... his car needs more exhaust.... other than that the tvs is DONE

Just looking at the graph, i agree. Lose down low gain up high. 1% gain roughly at that. Not worth the time at all.

its give and take...

hey if we didn't do it... no body else would of stepped up and tried.

Majority of this forum races 4500 rpm and up regardless... that extra 5-7 ft lbs from 5200 rpm up is only going to help.

on the kill tune above

we're running 25* at 4k and it scales to 27.5* by 7000. Sad 21gph wasn't enough.... lets see if 24gph will counter act the 6-7* of knock post 6400. At 25 psi, the afr doesnt dip or richen, even with this much nozzle.

On the normal tune for the comparisons sake, timing scaled from 19* @ 4k to 24.5* by 7000.

this can be done... euthanasia was talking about grinding a set.

pathetic how the power peaks @ 6600... wish it would carry out more.
