two codes since friday (HELP)
two codes since friday (HELP)
my ******* car (2006 cobalt ss sc) (mods are cai and aluminum fly wheel) my check engine light has been on since friday afternoon. so i put it on the scanner a school to day and it threw the P0069 (BARO sensor performance) and P0171 (running lean in bank 1). anybody know what could be causing this? if there are any gm tech guys or anybody who is knowlegable about the 2.0 help me out.
You need to check you baro sensor signal with a scan tool. All you need to do is compare the map sensor to the baro with the engine not running. If there very different then you need to check your baro sensor and circuit. It may have been messed up with the flywheel install since its right above that tranny next to the fuel rail. Also you will need to check you maf for dirt and proper installation. It needs to be stright in the pipe and go ahead and clean it with some maf cleaner or brake clean with it unplugged. Also berometic pressure plays a part in fuel dalivery so that needs to be checked first.

yo ihave already cleaned my maf and my cels are still on hekp me out
I would just get a tune if I were you. An second thought, make your own stage kit and get it tuned.
BTW, I get the intake code frequently, and have had no problems. Of course, my car isn't F/I, so I have less to worry about if I'm a little lean.
I thought that the 2.0 was pretty rich thought, so wouldn't an intake only make the A/F better?

Did you unhook the battery after cleaning the MAF? This clears the codes.
What brand CAI did you install?
If it has an oiled filter, you may want to get an AEM dry filter, this has worked for a few on this forum.

i have a fujita f5, i cleared the codes with a scanner they went a day of and then they came back on.
When i was throwing the p0171 code I actually found out that my intake wasn't fully sealed, and it was leaking in air past the MAF. I had done the airbox mod, but had put the rest of the intake together without making sure it was absolutely together, so i had a small amount of air leaking in. Make sure everything is secure, and yes, cleaning your MAF with electrical contact cleaner may help as well if you think it has gotten oil or debree on it.
i had the code with the f5 intake looked to see if the clamps where on tight and the pipes where put together and they werent toward the bottom right before maf sensor. cleared the code and problem was solved.
I was throwing the same codes plus P0068 turned out to be my MAF sensor was bad. The dealer replaced it and all is good now. Oil’d intake cones are really bad on our sensors and it’s just a matter of time before they go out... AEM Dryflow FTW!
