factory one works fine

when it wears out, replace it.

don't 65 components on your cooling system and it will last longer.

I know this is old but i cant let it slide.

Pump failure is not caused by strain on the pump.
The brushes in the pump motor ware out,
though the pump will start to work intermittently long before the brushes are bad,This is becasue of the carbon dust(from the carbon brushes) will cake up inside the motor and keep the brushes from moving inside the guides, thus keeping the brushes from making contact with the commutator.A tap on the back on the motor will jar the brushes loose and the motor will work for a while before it gets clogged again.

If you buy another pump, you might want to rebuild your old one and start a rotation for when your new pump kicks the bucket.

Here are a couple great how-to's on rebuilding the pump (replacing brushes):

good call. the stock IC pump really is the best for the job. ZZP confirmed it.
The meziere wp136s is the next best thing.
