I live in Washington State with LOTS of rain. I have an Injen CAI with a hydro shield and have never had any problems and no CEL. Get a hydro shield!

Does the hydroshield affect performance of the intake?

I had the same thing happen with my AEM. The placement of the CAI is retarded in this car, especially compared to my Mazda. I may get one and toss it on when I have to drive in the rain. I usually dont drive the balt in the rain at all.
