Warranty VS Tune

im in a dilemma. was wondering if i were to get my pcm programed with a tune, can i possibly void my warranty if i ever needed work?

currently im actually piecing together my project. but seems kinda hard to get a pcm. its a 2007 ss/sc.

now if i were to get a tune and something goes bad (motor , tranny , etc) and for some reason they check my tune, would they know instantly IF!

*i reflashed it back to gms2
*ever flashed it with a new tune

they would know if GM called for a scan of your PCM. a way around this is to buy a separate PCM, have a shop that does tuning match the VIN numbers to the car with the new PCM, and tune either one. if you ever have any problems you just simply swap it out to the GM tuned one however, just because you have a GM tuned PCM doesnt always mean they will cover the part, they may try and blame it on other mods, which they will. i lost 5th gear and they wouldnt cover the trans because im pretty much fully bolted. they didnt even bother scanning my PCM. just a heads up. warranties almost always suck once you get into modding.

well im actually buying a full set of bolt ons to throw into car and have stock parts laying around when needed. like im getting 60's but keeping my 42's.
i did however want a spare ecm but from what i been reading i have to get a 2007 pcm. cuz of the bus system!? like flicker, chimes and crap go to speakers instad of cluster. the bad part is i seem to not be able to use a 05-06 nor 08-10 cuz they turbo. so im stuck in 1 year model >.<

Quick question, did you buy an extended warranty or are you referring to the powertrain warranty? I only ask because if it's the powertrain warranty, it only lasts 5 years or 100k miles and will expire by the end of the year if it hasn't already

never knew they were dif between the lsj years. but yea, if your doing upgrades that are NOT thru GM they may give you **** for it. even with a GM tune. but thats what happens when u want to go faster.
