water/meth advice needed

I bought the cooling mist water/meth kit and it comes with a boost activation switch. I tapped it into this line.

the problem I'm having is that when i initially hit boost, it starts to spray but then quits. I'm pretty sure it should continue to spray as long as I'm in boost. I can preset the boost to kick in at different boost levels, but when I turn it up higher than 0 psi it doesn't activate at all. Is there a better vaccuum hose to tap into? if so please show me.

you mean, the one that runs to the back of that same sensor? I'll try it but I did that to begin with and it wouldn't activate at all. let me make sure we are talking about the same line.

yepo. i can look at mine in about 30 mins and let ya know exactly which one it is, but yes, it does plug into a sensor, i just forgot where

it is the line that goes into the back of that sensor. the one you have marked "this one?"

Area47 is right. What comes out of the box is different than what goes in. I had to bypass the box completely with the twinscrew because the new bypass valve needed a good vacuum source. Tap it into the one from the manifold.

you don't HAVE TO TUNE, but that would be the whole point of the kit. You significantly drop IAT temps and you also can run more aggressive timing and lean the car out some more.

BTW, I'm still having some issues. I think I may have a clogged line. That wrx that I raced and posted vids of in the pics/vids thread I know I wasn't using the meth yet. I'll get it figured out soon enough though. I got a 1g awd dsm lined up for tonight.

not tuning it, is not a good thing. just throwing it on helps yes. but to gain max power from it. you need to lean the car out, and get stupid with the timing tables. when i first threw mine on, the a/f was 9.8. then i leaned it out from there. then blamo! more power.

did you notice a big difference in the butt dyno when you got it all tuned??? also so it wouldnt hurt for me to hook it up and drive it to a shop for them to tune it?? also how high of an a/f ratio do people normally run with our cars that have the water/meth injection???

How do you guys like the boost based kits? I went with the maf based Snow Performance kit. I'm pretty happy with it.

there is a difference, but it took some time, and huge number changes to get it where it is happy again. it saves me from running race gas when i don't need to and to get the same power.

a/f varies on the owner of the car. mine runs between 11.8-11.9 depending on my mood, i can go leaner with some more provisions.
