Water Methanol Alcohol Injection??????

I have been reading up on the h20/meth injection concept and it seems like the way to go considering my current financial situation. I was wondering; my 2007 cobalt ss/sc is completely stock, (I am planning on adding the gm intake and exhaust before the h20 meth) and I wasn’t sure if I would need anything else done to my car before I buy and install the h20 meth kit.

Thanks for your help.

GM doesn't make an intake for the SS/SC. I don't see you benefiting from meth injection with those minor mods.

You don't tune meth injection, but you tune the car to use it... if that makes since.

Do you mean a GM manifold?

Meth by itself will not net you any gains. You need to tune the car for the meth, basically adding more timing.

i have a 2.8 with 60s and the guy that does my work tells me that he doesnt like the whole meth injection, he called it "a band-aid for people with bad tunes or that cant afford race gas" and recomended that i get a duel pass h/e or add a second h/e

It allows for more timing that you can't normally run. It cools before the charge, the dual pass and HE cool after the fact. Both are important.

hehe, i know nothing about it myself, but whenever i ask my guy about it he shoots the idea down, however other people in my local club think its a good idea. i would really like to try it but my buddy has been batting 1000 so far with my car so its hard to argue with him.

Well he popped up on this one.

Guys have been going to 25* of timing with it. Try that with all the other cooling mods and your engine won't be happy.

yeah, tell him to race one of us with meth and see how badly he loses. Then I gaurantee you he will be thinking twice if not purchasing a kit himself.
