weird noise while rpm's drop

im not sure if its im my head because its such a quiet or mild noise i should say but ill give it a try. Seems that when i down shift or let off the gas and the rpm's are dropping i hear a slight almost grinding sound coming from the engine or tranny. Its very quite and its like an inconsistent grinding or rubbing sound right after i let off the gas for a couple seconds. any ideas?

any ideas?

Sounds like the same problem I was just experiencing. We just pulled the engine and tranny to do some internal work and when the tranny was off my buddy who is a very experienced mechanic said "heres where your grinding noise is coming from" and it turned out the thruster bearing for the clutch was shot". I did have a new clutch installed and shortly after that the noise was apparent so I wasnt sure if it was normal or not. Turns out this is something that is a must to replace when doing a clutch install but the mechanic at GM who done it must have forgot. Typical ******* dealerships anyhow.lol. Anyhow, I hope this helps!

my clutch is stock though. Was the sound very very faint and was like on and off real quickly for like 2 seconds?

Mine done it a bit more but sounds very similar. How many miles on your car? It might still be a possibility.

Well mine had 7,000 when the clutch was done so it could be that. I noticed it was coming from the driver side by the tranny so it helped us locate what it was. It sounded like a grinding sound whenever I came up to a stop sign and had the clutch depressed.

yeah i don't think i have the same problem as you than Angel because i don't hear anything when at a stop. Just right after i let off the gas and the rpm's start to fall. Might not be anything i hope. Just being paranoid before i blow my warranty with stage 2 install.
