Weird RPM surging

I just changed my plugs from the irridum to the copper one step colder ngk's. Ever since then when I am driving and i push the clutch in the rpms will drop really low to where the car shakes the lights dim, and then surges up and down for a minute then it will finally stablize. It never did this before I switched plugs, I gapped them to .40 but i'm sure it isn't most accurate. Im thinking about just getting the zex plugs since they don't need to be gapped and putting them in and seeing what happens. I also changed my aem intake to an injen intake at the same time, so any ideas?

Could it be that the one step colder plugs are fouling.

I had one step colder plugs in there for about a year now, i had ngk BKR7EIX which are irriduim, and I just changed them to ngk BKR7E which are copper, so how would they be fouling if they are the same step cold that was in the car for a year now?

Take it back you added one step colder after change my plugs.
Misunderstood what you posted.
Check all your hoses ,most likely knocked somthing loose from working on the car.

I have been having this problem too. RPM's so low the engine seems to want to die. I'm GMPP Stage 2 with ZEX plugs (triple electrode, pregapped to 040). Maybe I'll pull them out this weekend and have a look.

I don't? I thought it was common knowledge that stage 2+ you go to a colder plug? It ran fine for almost a year on a step colder plug before.

Sounds like your spark is not hot enough to light the fuel properly.

Exclamation same idle problem with stage 4 intense

I have a stage 5 intense installed and my car seems to be irrattic ran great for a day or 2 thenstarted doing this idle thing, not all the time just once in a while while coming to a stop with the clutch in the idle will jump around and then go real low and the car will actually die sometimes. it embarrassing i have tried to contact intense and they will not respond back i have made 10 calls and numerous emails ? I bought from them because i read they where so great. I have swap sensors from a friends car and still does it it also throws misfire codes when this happens. Any ideas

The problem may have been exacerbated by the new plugs, but the actual problem itself is with the stage 2 tune. People with completely stock stage 2 have the same problem when the AC is on. The reason is because when GM put together the tune, they never bothered to get the offsets right. They also zeroed out the adder table, even though the minimum linear PW on those injectors is like 1.2ms or so. If you have HPTuners, I will have the proper fueling tables for those injectors soon. Right now, all I have is basic caracterization numbers, but even those numbers show that GM had their heads up their asses when they put together stage 2. Maybe that is why they have 3 different versions of it.

What is the fix for now? I'd say, put your stock plugs back in.

As far as the intense tune, what injectors do you have?

Hmm. I haven't seen the CA stage 6 tune. How do your 60s do at idle? I have seen intense tunes though. As far as the 60s tunes from them... well, old school - flatline the IFR table and make it up in the VE table.
