Went to the track had problems advice needed!

So my friend and I took his 2007 SS Supercharged to the track last week. mods are gm stage 2 gmpp exhaust and injen intake when we went. at the end of 2nd gear the lowcoolant light came on. the second race before we went we check everything intake temps were at 224! highest its ever been the coolant level was fine then decided to cool down to about 203 second race same thing happen cel came on through the code p1701 i think it was said was running to lean. he inspected the intake over no holes. put his factory intake on code hasnt came back we might try again tommorow but this issue seems to be more then just an intake any ideas?

thanks in advance

Ok you are talking about 2 different things here. The coolant system for you're engine and supercharger are 2 totally different systems. When you say the intake temps were 224, is that engine coolant or IAT2 temps?

If his IAT2's were 224 I think his engine would have let go.

2 unrelated problems.
The CEL was the intake. certain intakes skew the maf and need to have the maf retuned.
Coolant temp should not be that high. even on a 100* day my car wont go over 200. low coolant may indicate a head gasket leak.

my '07 SS/SC will get about that hot if im sitting idling then the fans will kick on and it'll go back down to around 190. I was at the track waiting to race and watched my temp creep up to around 218.
